Platinum Queen

Lisa Haydon chats with us about her hair story and what it takes to maintain her impeccable mane

Platinum Queen

She turned heads when she went from dark brunette to platinum blonde. And ever since, we’ve wondered about the meticulous process that must go into keeping her bleached locks luscious and long. Turns out, the supermodel has loads to say on the subject. She’s a Kérastase loyalist and swears by the professional brand for all her hair care needs.

Their latest launch, the Résistance Extensioniste line, consists of an insalon treatment, followed by an at-home routine. The products are designed to extend the limits of hair by ensuring it’s strengthened and therefore grows long. We caught up with Lisa to discuss this new range and also grilled her on all things hair.

GRAZIA: What’s the story of your hair?

LISA HAYDON: You won’t believe it, but I’ve spent most of my life being rather non-experimental with my hair. I love long, thick and healthy hair. I haven’t ever chopped it all off, but I know I will one day. Right now, being blonde makes me feel like a mermaid and I wish I could keep it forever.

G: You’ve mostly sported long hair. What does it represent for you?

LH: It’s boho, beautiful and feminine – the way I like to be.

G: How would you define a good hair day?

LH: Hair that falls well. Long, salty, curly ocean hair is my favourite.

G: Have you ever had a hair related insecurity? If yes, what was it?
