Four years after we bid farewell to the Crawley family and their servants, Downton Abbey is back – and this time all the intrigue upstairs and downstairs will play out on the big screen.

THE ROYALS ARE COMING

A big-screen story needs a big screen event – and what could be bigger than King George V (played by Simon Jones) and Queen Mary (Geraldine James) paying a visit to Downton? The royals are touring the region and decide to spend the night at the great house. Cue: a flurry of activity as the Crawley family and their servants prepare for the VIP guests. Although, not everyone is entirely happy about the monarch stopping by, especially Irishman Tom Brandon (Allen Leech).
