Amanda Knox back with ex-lover!

The former couple were spotted near the italian town where her housemate was killed

Smiling for the camera with their arms around one another, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito could be mistaken for carefree tourists enjoying the central Italian town of Gubbio.

But behind their wide smiles is a desperately sad story. Though they are no longer a couple, Amanda and Raffaele are bonded for life by a trauma that still haunts them to this day.

Just 50 kilometres away from where the photograph, splashed across publications around the globe, was taken, Amanda’s 21-yearold housemate Meredith Kercher was murdered in her bedroom. The grisly crime, which took place in November 2007, made international headlines after Amanda and Raffaele were wrongly convicted and subsequently cleared, twice.

In a rare interview, Raffaele told The Mirror their reunion in Gubbio was “bittersweet”.

“We had been planning to go there on the day Meredith’s body was found.”
