When an LA family court judge last month awarded Brad Pitt joint custody of the five youngest children he shares with Angelina Jolie – against her vehement wishes – her world fell apart.

Sources say the star is still determined to get the ruling overturned, dragging out Hollywood’s most toxic divorce well into its fifth year.

But in the meantime, Ange is focused on moving forward with her kids, and has fled her LA mansion for an apartment in New York City.

An insider exclusively tells New Idea she jetted out of Hollywood the day after her 46th birthday with her six kids in tow. She mysteriously opted to fly commercial on a domestic route to JFK Airport, rather than her usual private plane.

“The jets she uses are easily trackable,” says a source. “Perhaps she didn’t want Brad to have any idea where they were going, or when.”
