According to insiders, Bindi, 22, along with her husband Chandler, 23, are under mounting pressure to choose which high-profile celebrity will be the all-important godparent to their unborn child.

“The couple are taking this decision very seriously,” reveals a source.

“They know whoever they choose will have a big part to play in their baby girl’s life, so they want to make sure they pick the right person.”

On first glance, Russell Crowe seems the odds-on favourite. The long-time friend of the famous family has stepped up as a surrogate father figure to Bindi and her brother, Robert, since the passing of their dad Steve in 2006.

Russell and Bindi’s mum Terri also share a deeply bonded relationship, which the pair have both publicly acknowledged in recent tell-all interviews.
