Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson is no doubt breathing a sigh of relief now that her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, has settled his ongoing civil lawsuit against Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Although Fergie has always been supportive of Andrew following Virginia’s allegations that he sexually assaulted her when she was 17, which he denied, the Duchess of York is glad she can finally put the whole mess behind her and move on with her life.

First up on her agenda is throwing herself into work, especially now that money might be tight for the York’s once Andrew is done paying off his hefty settlement fee to Virginia, estimated to be a whopping $23 million.

Sources tell New Idea that Fergie is pitching a screen adaptation of her new novel, Her Heart for a Compass. The book is a sweeping historical romance and Fergie has reportedly offered Colin Firth a role!
