How to grow your own food at home

A lush green space filled with blooms might be lovely to look at, but what if you were to add in a few plants that not only save you money, but give you the satisfaction of growing your own food? Welcome to an edible garden. It can be everything from your favourite vegies like potatoes, tomatoes and lettuce, or herbs and spices like thyme, oregano and chilli. If you're feeling adventurous you can even try growing edible flowers like violas! Interested? We thought so. Simon Holloway, co-owner of Vegepod, explains how to get started...

TIP

Make sure to water your plants every day for the first few days, then slowly start to reduce the amount of water to encourage strong root growth.
