Mum Vs Coronavirus! Meet The Stockpiling Queen!

As toilet paper flies off the shelves and the hysteria over the coronavirus epidemic sets in, one Australian mother has been prepared for months.

Sydney woman Dianne Regan, 50, has a fully stocked pantry and an enviable supply of cleaning products, bog roll, and tissues after buying in bulk since the disease was first identified in Wuhan late last December.

Speaking with New Idea, the mum of six revealed the reason behind her vigilant stockpiling skills.

“I’m definitely not a crazy doomsday prepper!” Dianne explains.

“I just have unusual family circumstances. My mum is 83 with a weaker immune system, and my 23-year-old daughter has asthma.

“So when this virus hit, I took note of it more than the average person would, because it’s a respiratory one.”

Dianne, who says she rarely bought in bulk before the coronavirus hysteria set in, says she is terrified by the disease that is spreading around the world.

Her bulk-buying started with stockpiling necessities such as cold and flu tablets, rice and pasta.

Now, Dianne says, she has enough food and products to last a potential forced isolation period of two weeks – and then some!

“I never buy in bulk; I literally live at the supermarket and I go to the store everyday,” Dianne admits.

“So when I saw the news coming out of China, I thought: ‘Oh my gosh, this is real.’ It’s extremely scary.
