‘OUR HERO DAD SAVED MILA'S LIFE'

When it comes to the expression ‘Daddy’s girl, it doesn’t get more true than for adorable Tasmanian toddler Mila Pincus.

Not only does Mila mirror her father’s mannerisms, but the bubbly 3-year-old had her entire liver replaced with a fifth of her father’s.

Cameron Pincus and his partner, Nicky Browning, both 31, already considered Mila to be a miracle child after she was conceived following many failed cycles of IVF.

But the pair had no idea a second miracle would be in order when Mila suddenly became ill with life-threatening liver failure for no apparent reason, just before her very first birthday.

“We took her to the doctor when her eyes became a bit jaundiced after an ear infection,” Nicky tells New Idea. “Next thing, we were being flown to Melbourne and told Mila’s liver was beyond repair, and she was placed on an urgent liver transplant list. We were both so scared.”

Mila’s health declined rapidly. Cameron and Nicky weren’t prepared to wait, so they were screened for compatibility as living donors.
