He is already the most famous boy on the planet. But Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor blissfully slept through it all as his proud parents introduced their son to a waiting world.

Harry and Meghan posed with their ‘little bundle of joy’ at Windsor Castle just two days after his birth in a London hospital.

The infant was cradled by his dad Harry as Meghan held her husband’s arm and smiled contentedly while gently stroking her child’s head.

Archie was wrapped in a merino wool ‘leaves and flowers’ shawl from royal favourites G.H. Hurt and Son.

Speaking in St George’s Hall – an outside appearance was cancelled because of rain – the duke and duchess were asked what it was like to be parents. “It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing,” said Meghan.

“I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy. He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.”

Harry joked: “I don’t know who he gets that from!”

Meghan went on: “He’s just been a dream so it’s been a special couple of days.”

As for who the baby takes after, Meghan said they were “still trying to figure that out”.

“Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks,” Harry added, prompting online speculation that Archie may have been born much earlier than May 6.

“We’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really,” he added.

“But his looks are changing every single day, so who knows?”

Asked how he found being a dad, the prince beamed, “It’s great, parenting is amazing.

“It’s only been what, two-and-a-half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy.
