As they casually browsed in kids’ stationery store Smiggle recently, it appeared for all the world that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were doing their level best to ensure that their kids, George, Charlotte and Louis, have a ‘normal’ childhood, despite being royals.

But, in a case that shocked the UK, Prince George, 7, was the target of an assassination plot, with a twisted scheme to poison the third in line to the throne with ice cream!

Details of the attempt were revealed in court during the trial of Sahayb Abu, who was found guilty of terrorism offenses after he was arrested in July last year. In taped phone conversations, Abu was heard detailing plans of the murder plot against George, for which another man, Husnain Rashid, an associate of Abu’s, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 25 years in 2018.
