Ron Wilson wasn’t expecting to find love a second time around – certainly not through a chance meeting at his son’s cafe, followed by a friendly chat about his dodgy knee!

Yet that’s how the widower and former Network Ten newsreader met his fiancée, Ness Richa, 18 months ago.

Blissfully unfazed by their 30-year age gap – Ron is a youthful 67, while Ness is only 37 – the adoring duo are busy planning a rustic winter wedding in NSW’s Hunter Valley, followed by a skiing honeymoon in New Zealand.

“We’re not teenagers anymore, we know what and who we want in life, so let’s get on with it,” the SmoothFM breakfast radio presenter tells New Idea. “We want to build a life together. It’s no good waiting around!”

Both mad skiers, Ron and Ness also share a passion for family, fine wine, open fires, roast dinners, boating and weekends in the country.

Asked what they love most about each other, they roar with laughter before replying, “Sex!”

“That’s a throwaway line, but it’s our answer to anyone who questions why we’re together.”
