A home of excellence, creativity and exclusivity, Maison Alexandrine in São Paulo features curated luxury brought together by its founder, Alexandra Fructuoso
Brazil might seem an unlikely destination for haute couture and curated artisanal luxury creations. Yet, in São Paulo is an iconic maison that brings together exceptional craftsmanship from talents of fashion, art and design with the unprecedented purpose of reflecting the essence of luxury patronage. This is Maison Alexandrine.
In order to understand the concept of the Maison Alexandrine, one must look to one of the most influential women in France of the Enlightenment, great promoter of the arts and principal adviser of King Louis XV: Madame de Pompadour. Her love for the fine arts was notorious, making her one of the most remarkable patrons in history.
Inspired by the legacy of Madame de Pompadour, Alexandra Fructuoso - a Portuguese entrepreneur settled in Brazil since she was 19 - after more than 20 years as a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry, started to focus on fashion, her passion, and is the founder of The Alexandrine project.
The Maison, which occupies an 870m2 mansion divided in four floors in the Paulistano Garden, in São Paulo, rescues and celebrates the history of this emblematic figure, who had a single daughter - the little Alexandrine Le Normant d’Étiolles - inspiration for the name of the brand.
Fructuoso manages the curatorship of the Maison, which brings together the work of artists and designers under the philosophy and concept unpublished here, to discover and encourage talents of fashion, arts and design with the potential to obtain national and international projection. Thus was born the first Maison de Patronage de Luxe in Brazil. From dresses that are true works of art to accessories, jewellery, objects, and porcelain to gastronomy, the Maison features a vibrant collection. Everything that attracts Fructuoso’s attentive gaze is governed by three principles: artisan excellence, exclusivity and uniqueness.
