Hucksters retrocaf, inHelensburgh, Scotland, is using the stories of its famous locals, past and present, including Deborah Kerr, to inspire the next generation
A stack of pancakes, a frothy chocolate milkshake and a huge side of nostalgia. That’s what’s on the menu at Hucksters café, a Fifties diner-style eaterie with a difference.
For here, the walls lined with old movie posters from the golden age of Hollywood and amazing memorabilia from stars of the past aren’t just for decoration – instead they’re a vital part of the mission to harness the power of real people’s incredible stories to inspire and motivate the community.
The café which is part of the Helensburgh Heroes Centre, a charity in the Scottish town of Helensburgh, was the brainchild of Phil Worms, who moved here from London 20 years ago and was amazed to find out how many famous people had heralded from this beautiful part of the world.
