Gautam Gambhir’s precarious comeback in the Indian side has been a blend of some scrumptious performances in the domestic circuit and a stroke of fluke. The injury of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan paved the way for Delhi batsman in the Indore Test against New Zealand. The southpaw in the fourth over itself smashed Matt Henry out of the park on two consecutive deliveries. However, his 29-run innings ended soon, the former seems to have done justice to his much awaited comeback.

The gloomy left hander had previously been exposed in the uncertain off-stump corridor for quite a time. The 2014 England tour would have been a forgettable one for him. He was seen scouting constant edges, in attempt to guide the ball to the third man area. Anderson’s swinging deliveries in seaming conditions proved to be trenchant for the left hander. However, Gambhir’s newly incorporated stance has precluded him with the old stigma. The left hander now stands with his left foot on middle stump and the right one on slightly outside leg stump, having gained a sharp tilt as compared to his previous stance. He was bereft of finding reminiscent edges persistently in the IPL and Duleep trophy campaign. The result deemed him for the 3rd Test against New Zealand, which witnessed an altogether different Gambhir.
