Fancy yourself as a great explorer, overachiever or record breaker?
Step outside the realms of the weights room with Ross’ insane training methods that’ll chisel your physique and get you ready for just about anything!
Wide Grip Pull-Ups
Adopting a pronated grip (palms facing away from you), grip a bar wide arms wide. Pull up and bring your chin all the way over the bar, engaging your lats, rhomboids, biceps, traps and shoulders...boom!
How many should you be able to do? A guy with decent upper-body strength and a good fitness level should aim for a minimum of 6. As a marker, a trainee Royal Marine is required to perform a minimum of 3 to stay on course, whilst achieving 16 will give him a maximum point score.
Isometric Hanging Leg Raises
This one really is a core massacre! Holding your legs out straight in front of you for a minimum of 30 seconds and repeating for 5-6 rounds will toughen up your core like never before! Adopting this method as opposed to performing traditional hanging leg raises negates the chances of momentum kicking in and places 100% of the work on the core!
