Memorial weekend to be held to mark Fergal McCusker’s 20th anniversary
THE family of a young, catholic man from Maghera, who was abducted and shot dead by members of the Loyalist Vol-unteer Force (LVF), are still fighting for justice 20 years on.
In the early hours of Sunday, January 18, 1998, Fergal McCusker was murdered by loyalist gunmen.
His body found dumped in an alleyway behind the Fairhill Youth Centre, close to St Mary’s Chapel, and not far from his family home.
Fergal McCusker had been returning from a night out along with friends when he was brutally murdered.
