RAINEY Endowed have been drawn against 1999 winners Friends School Lisburn in the semi-final of the Ulster Senior Schools’ Cup.
They left it late in their Quarter-Final against Ballyclare High, with Alex Burns striking for a late goal to force a shoot-out, which they won 3-1.
Rainey are the only one of the semi-finalists never to have won the senior trophy – losing out in the 1977 and 2014 finals.
The team is coached by Alex’s mother Carolyn and have already beaten Friends earlier this season, 3-0 in the Super League.
