But the fate of the carrier—it owes over Rs 8,000 crore to lenders—continues to hang in the balance as it looks for a new investor to operate it. Ending months of a boardroom tug-of-war, Goyal and wife Anita stepped down, along with a representative from Etihad Airways (the UAE’s official carrier) which earlier owned 24 per cent in Jet.
