Bose Designed - The Constitution
Riyas Komu's interest lies in archiving the times we live in. What he sees now is rising violence because of religious discrimination, communal polarisation and social tensions. This makes him feel that India is drifting away from the values enshrined in our Constitution.
The artist's solo exhibition Holy Shiver is his response to the rising militant tendencies. “Holy Shiver celebrates history, but also highlights a fear of where are we heading, and what recalibrations we have to make,” he said.
The exhibition stems from a recent debate over changing the Indian Constitution. This alerted him to the need to change public perception and show that the country is deviating from the path it had embarked on.
