Alan: It's Our Time For Glory

A TOP-CLASS manager and shrewd signings mean defender Alan Sheehan is confident this will be Luton Town’s year.

The 31-year-old Irishman was boss Nathan Jones’ first signing after the latter took the reins in January 2016, signing on loan from Bradford before making the move permanent that summer.

It looked as though the Hatters would win promotion from League Two for much of last season, but they ultimately finished fourth and then lost 6-5 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals to Blackpool, who ultimately won promotion at Wembley.

It means Luton have had to settle for another year in the EFL basement, but Sheehan has faith in Jones to take them that extra step this term.

“He’s definitely one of the best managers I have worked under,” said centre-back Sheehan, who netted a long-range effort in the 3-1 win against Newport last Saturday. “There’s been a big transformation of the club and the style of play since he came in.

“His attention to detail is second to none and no-one works harder than him. I would like him to manage Luton in a higher division. If not at Luton, I’m sure he will be managing at a higher level one day.”
