GRIMES CALLS THE TUNE FOR SWANS

SWANSEA CITY kept pace with the Championship leaders with a hard-fought win over Rotherham United.

Captain Matt Grimes ensured his side remained only two points off the top by capitalizing on a Jamal Blackman error to score his first goal for 19 months.

And manager Steve Cooper believes the win could prove vital in the race for promotion.

He said: “It is the games and the days like this that could be really important. I am not saying we wouldn’t have won this game last year, but there were games like this we didn’t win.”

Cooper handed a first League start to Wales Under-21 striker Liam Cullen as one of four changes to the Swansea side beaten by Norwich before the international break.
