JOS Luhukay picked up his first point in English foot-ball as his 10-man Sheffield Wednesday held arch-rivals Sheffield United.
Owls defender Glenn Loovens was sent off just after the hour for a second yellow card but the Blades could not make the breakthrough.
Clayton Donaldson went close with a header but was denied by Wednesday goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith, and the visitors’ best chance came when Daniel Pudil’s 20-yard volley went only just wide.
But the new Owls boss was pleased with what he saw from his side – especially playing the last 25 minutes with 10 men.
Luhukay said: “I enjoyed it, I am very happy to be here. The game was very hard but I must give my team a compliment and I have respect for the fight they gave me for 90 minutes.
“The last 25 minutes was not so easy but the team were good after the red card, they did a very good job. At the end we had two good chances and we could have won it.
