The Prince of Wales calmly carried on with a visit to Sheffield yesterday despite rampant rumours on social media concerning his wife's health.
Meanwhile, it was reported last night that the hospital where the Princess had abdominal surgery in January has launched an urgent probe into claims that at least one unauthorised staff member tried to look at her private medical notes.
Managers at the London Clinic in Marylebone were said to be "distraught" at the alleged breach of confidentiality and security, according to The Daily Mirror.
The private hospital, which has a reputation for treating royals including the King discreetly, would only say: "We firmly believe that all our patients...deserve total privacy and confidentiality regarding their medical information."
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "This is a matter for The London Clinic."
