A TEARFUL mum has thanked people for donating more than £10,000 for her terminally-ill daughter after she revealed the family could not afford heating.

Alexandra Hazell, 35, touched the hearts of kind strangers when she told in yesterday's Mirror how Anastasia, seven, had to be wrapped in blankets and kept warm with a wood fire.

The youngster was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable DIPG brain tumour last March and given just 12 months to live.

Alexandra, hoping to raise £15,000, said: “It's really overwhelming.

“People have been amazing and so helpful.

"It has been the worst year of our lives but also the best because we have had this incredible support." Her GoFundMe page explains how Anastasia has been stricken by the tumour.
