FINN RUSSELL insists he was only joking when he compared himself to Lionel Messi on Netflix’s new rugby series – and admits he has a long way to go before he can rival the Argentine legend’s achievements.
The Scotland captain was asked on Six Nations: Full Contact to explain his role to someone who did not follow rugby. And he said: "Some people might say I'm good to watch if you're a football fan you might say kinda like Messi."
But while his position of stand-off is similar to a midfield general in football or a quarterback in American football, the Bath playmaker reckons there are a whole lot of things he doesn't have in common with the great man.
