Goran reckons it’s a Slams dunk for Djokovic

As far as Goran Ivanisevic is concerned, the debate is already over. Novak Djokovic is the best player of all time.

Yes, Ivanisevic is Djokovic’s coach.

But the charismatic Croat has only been working with the world No.1 for two years – and it did not take the man who created history in 2001 by becoming the first wildcard player ever to lift the trophy at SW19, long to recognise the sporting phenomenon he was dealing with.

Djokovic on Sunday lifted his sixth Wimbledon and 20th Grand Slam title as he beat talented Italian Matteo Berrettini 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-3.

The saw him go into there cord books alongside his great rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

With three Grand Slams – Australia, France and now Wimbledon – in the bag this year already, the ‘Grand Slam’ of Grand Slams is on, with only the US Open to go.

Only Rod Laver has achieved the feat in the open era, but Ivanisevic is backing his man to match it.
