The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) announced on Monday that all students aged 16 and above wishing to return to face-to-face learning must be vaccinated prior to the start of the new academic year.
The MoE and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) – announced the requirement as part of new measures to limit the spread of coronavirus in educational institutions.
The MoE wrote on Twitter, “The Ministry of Education encourages all individuals aged 16 and above to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Vaccination is a mandatory requirement for entering educational facilities.” This includes all eligible groups of people, including teaching staff, administrative staff, support services, and even parents.
It was also learned that students who are exempted from vaccination must present the ministry’s certificate at schools. The authorities in the UAE have decided to reopen educational institutions for the academic year 2021/22.
On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Public Health Centre, Mubadala Health, and Yas Mall have organized a pop-up vaccination center for all students.
