Grieving dad Andrew McGinley has revealed the moment where he realised life goes on following the tragic deaths of his three children.
His wife Deirdre Morley, 44, admitted smothering their three children, Conor, nine, and Darragh, seven, and three-year-old Carla at their home in Newcastle, Co Dublin, in January 2020.
She was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity last month.
Andrew said: “That realisation that life goes on actually struck me on the Saturday directly after the children died.
“I hadn’t slept and I was just restless and you want to be doing something.
“Myself and my brother walked around to the garage to get a coffee, so literally 12 hours after the children had passed, just life was normal and people were coming in getting their breakfast rolls and their coffees and popping into the shop.
“It actually struck me then that life goes on for everybody else.”
