India's fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming home Test series against South Africa that is slated to begin from October 2. BCCI on Tuesday informed that the Indian pace spearhead suffered a minor stress fracture in his lower back.
Umesh Yadav has been named as Bumrah’s replacement for the 3-match Test series. Umesh last played a Test in 2018 at Perth against Australia.
Jasprit Bumrah has been phenomenal in recent times and was more than impressive in the Test series against West Indies. Bumrah was India’s wrecker-in-chief as he picked 13 wickets at an average of just 9.23 in the recently concluded 2-match Test series.
