The impact of a few hours of heavy rainfall that brought the National Capital to a standstill on Sunday, with waterlogging in several areas and four people losing their lives in different parts, continued on Monday as well. The repercussions were seen both on roads and in politics.
With the massive traffic congestion in some areas, the effects of Sunday rainfall were seen during peak hours on Monday. Some parts of the city saw traffic snarls as the commuters were heading to their workplaces. Due to the ongoing construction work at Bhairon Road and a collapsed drainage near IP Depot on Ring Road, the morning goers were seen waiting at traffic jams for hours. Delhi Police had requested people to avoid the stretch and use alternative routes. On the other side, the blame game on the Minto Road mishap continued between the Delhi government and the Opposition.
