The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday filed a charge sheet against Yes Bank co-founder Rana Kapoor in a special court here which adjudicates on cases taken up under the prevention of money laundering act (PMLA).
Kapoor, former MD and CEO of Yes Bank, was arrested by the ED on March 8 under the prevention of money laundering act.
ED has provisionally attached 168 bank accounts of Rana Kapoor and his family members and their network companies worth Rs 52 crore. The agency had also attached 59 paintings worth Rs 4 crores including a MF Hussain portrait of Rajiv Gandhi and mutual fund worth Rs 3 crores. The Rajiv Gandhi Portrait bought by Kapoor from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for Rs 2 crore has been shown as proceeds of crime by ED in the charge sheet.
