Witnesses have described chaotic scenes on Sunday evening as flash flooding left several city streets looking 'like swimming pool.
A section of Wolseley Road was hit by a deluge at about 8.30 pm, after heavy rain which drains were unable to cope with.
The rain had been forecast by the Met Office, which earlier in the day had put out a yellow warning for people to be aware of the possibility of the heavy raid in the region, but the dumping of such a large volume of water in a half-hour period still came as a surprise to many.
