Gallant Parkway Go Down To A Narrow Loss At League Leaders

PLYMOUTH Parkway gave a good account of themselves, but they were unable to end the unbeaten league record of leaders Frome Town, as they went down toa 1-0 defeat at Badgers Hill.

Jon Davies scored the only goal of the game in the first half to extend the Robins’ unbeaten run to 12 games, but they were certainly made to work hard for the win against a spirited Parkway side that had won their last three matches.

Parkway made two changes to the side that thumped Salisbury 4-0 with Callum Rose coming into central defence in place of Mikey Williams, who moved into midfield, to replace Jordan Copp, and Matt Andrew returned from injury, replacing the unavailable Jamie Lowry in midfield.

In front of a lively crowd of 433, the game got off to a fast start with Frome looking sharp and having a couple of early shots from distance, both off target.

Play continued at a high tempo with Parkway seeing plenty of the ball in midfield playing some fluent football but with the hosts pressing well, they were unable to break into the final third.
