A PLYMOUTH company which manufactures hi-tech electronics is to recruit around 50 people this year as part of expansion plans driven by its groundbreaking Micro-LED technology.
Plessey Semiconductors Ltd, in Belliver, says it is working with world leaders in consumer technology to bring the next generation AR (augmented reality) wearable applications to the market and wants new recruits.
The firm has signed a 'long term' deal with tech giant Meta - formerly Facebook - to develop new technologies for the AR display markets, such as smart glasses.
Plessey already employs just over 240 people but is looking to bring in around 50 more staff this year to help it achieve its goals as part of an ongoing expansion plan.
