Scheme beginning Oct. 29 is not restricted to the city alone but will be available in NCR as well.
The Delhi Cabinet on Thursday accorded in-principle approval to free travel for women aboard Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses beginning October 29, the Delhi government said in a statement.
According to the statement, the decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and entails the provision of free, single-journey duration passes for women commuters wishing to avail the facility of free travel on DTC and cluster buses.
Free travel will not only be available for women commuters within the jurisdiction of the Capital but also on State-run bus services in Noida and the National Capital Region in addition to the airport and other special services, the statement said further.
