State officials trying to instil confidence in migrant workers
The flight of north Indian workers from Gujarat has abated after attacks targeted at them in various districts of the State have stopped since Monday.
"There has not been any incident, and the situation is absolutely under control. There are no reports of an exodus also," a senior government official said. The measures initiated by the administration have led to positive results, he added.
Safety promised
In Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Mehsana and other districts, local administration officials held meetings with representatives of migrant workers and industry representatives. Police officials who were also present assured migrants of safety.
