Track fracture said to be reason for early morning accident
Six passengers were killed and over 30 injured when 11 coaches of the Delhibound Seemanchal Express derailed early on Sunday in Vaishali district of Bihar. The coaches of the superfast JogbaniAnand Vihar Seemanchal Express jumped the rails near Sahadai Buzurg in the Sonpur Division of East Central Railway (ECR).
Chief Public Relations Officer, East Central Zone, Rajesh Kumar said one general coach, one AC coach B3, three sleeper coaches — S8, S9 and S10 — and six other coaches derailed.
Probe ordered
While an inquiry has been ordered, a rail fracture is said to have led to the derailment, railway officials said.
