What is believed to be the country's worst-ever coronavirus wave has left hospitals overwhelmed and drug stores struggling to keep up with demand. Many people have complained of having to wait over a week for basic medicine such as ibuprofen, aspirin and even cough sweets. There were reports of panic-buying and stockpiling already scarce medication, while fears that the country's fragile health infrastructure could buckle under the pressure have made matters worse.
