Zamboanga City has been placed under Alert Level 4 as the number of COVID-19 cases increased, according to the Department of Health (DOH)-Zamboanga peninsula regional office.

“COVID cases in Zamboanga are categorized as Alert Level 4 because of the surge of the cases which are doubly high,” DOH regional director Joshua Brillantes said.

Brillantes said 38 additional medical workers were deployed to various hospitals, where more COVID wards will be put up.
