A senior fire officer said that the home department had asked them to submit a list, but none of their personnel had been vaccinated so far.
“We rescued people from burning houses, saved animals, carried out fire checks and sanitised healthcare facilities, but we have not been vaccinated. Police, home guards, civil defence volunteers and now even civilians are getting the shots, but we have not been counted as frontline workers. During the pandemic, over 270 of our personnel even contracted the virus. They all are demotivated and asking why they are not being inoculated,” added the officer.
