Trikut Hills (Deoghar): Another botched-up rescue operation resulted in the death of a woman in Deoghar’s Trikut hills ropeway on Tuesday, raising the overall death count to three as rescuers completed the evacuation process with 45 people pulled out to safety over two days.
Shobha Devi, 60, a resident of Deoghar, died after her safety belt string got stuck in the cable car and the chopper was unable to pull her up. Rescuers detached the string to allow the women to get back into the car, but as she was released from a height, she sustained injuries during her fall. The National Disaster Response Force and Army Jawans sent her to Deoghar hospital where she was declared dead.
