Hyderabad/New Delhi: “This provision would be live from Friday (August 12),” Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in a letter sent to all the states on Wednesday. He added that there will be no change in existing guidelines for homologous precaution dose administration of Covaxin and Covishield vaccine.
Corbevax, which has been developed and manufactured by Biological E Limited in association with Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, has already been approved for use in 12-14-year olds as part of the government’s Covid-19 vaccination drive and so far over 6.85 crore doses of vaccine have been administered in the country. It is available for free at government-run vaccination centers while private centres charge Rs 250 a dose.
