The average age of a refrigerator consumer is estimated to be 34-35 years, according to industry sources. This was 3840 years about eight years ago in 2013-14. What’s also gone up are repeat purchases of refrigerators, which is the second most penetrated household appliance after the television.
According to data based on research just prior to the pandemic, close to 30% of customers are first-time buyers as compared to over 40% around 2013. This means, repeat buyers are nearly 70% as compared to about 60% in 2013.
