Punjab, Haryana and wes-tern Uttar Pradesh borethe brunt of the “Rail Roko” protest on Monday by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, with movement of over 70 trains disrupted at 130 locations in Punjab and Haryana alone.
SKM had given a call to disrupt rail traffic from 10am to 4pm, demanding arrest and dismissal of Union minister of state for home Ajay Mishra from the Cabinet over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
The stir, however, did not have much impact in other states. Railway ministry sources said rail services were hit at nearly 184 locations across states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and hindered the running of nearly 210 trains across seven zones including in the North East and western India.
