THIS IS US
“My husband Nitish and I were married in 2017, and it was a small family affair. I was all of 23 when we got married, but it was one heck of a ride. Although we were an arranged match, we got along so well that it was only a matter of time before we fell in love. We enjoyed our marriage for three years till we decided it was time to start a family.
“To our luck, within two to three months of trying we conceived. Call it ‘maternal’ instinct or what, but I had a strong hunch I was pregnant, and the sudden mood swings I was experiencing only raised my suspicions. I woke up really early in the morning one day and did a home pregnancy test, because I knew I wanted to surprise Nitish with this news. When I saw those lines on the test, ironically, I was so surprised—I anticipated this, but it still took a while to sink in. I gathered myself quickly and when I processed what was going on, I woke up my husband saying “Congrats Baby Daddy!’. We were elated, and when we broke the news to our families, there was so much excitement—it was the first grandchild on both sides, so you can only imagine the joy.
