Do's And Don'ts Of Travelling With A Bump

Everyone loves traveling - we visit new places, have a change of environment, allows us to take a break from regular routine life, and more. During pregnancy, the travel bug surely bites most pregnant women because they feel that once the baby arrives, they will not be able to move out and travel freely. Whether it's a babymoon, a vacation, or traveling to your hometown for the delivery, it is important to keep some things in mind so that you have a safe and comfortable travel experience.

First and foremost, check with your doctor. For most healthy pregnancies, travel is allowed, but getting the green signal from your doctor before you make travel plans is a must. The next thing is to pick a travel destination which is safe for pregnancy. Pick destinations which are easy to reach and do not involve long bumpy rides of flights. You can travel by road, rail, sea, or flight but you must keep in mind that you do not sit for long durations in one position. Sitting or standing in one position can cause the blood to collect in the lower extremities causing swelling and discomfort.
