Dads play the most important part in creating a suitable breastfeeding environment for the mum and the baby
The arrival of a newborn brings forth a plethora of emotions. It is the onset of a new journey that parents embark on. It is an emotional rollercoaster with responsibilities. It can become overwhelming to maintain a balance of home, family, and work commitments. The first few months, and even years, is part of a new journey for the family, and supporting one another through it all is the key.
MILLENNIAL FATHERS AS THE CUSTODIANS
The concept of paternal commitment is gaining widespread popularity. This is because millennial parents are increasingly dissolving division of roles and accepting equal responsibility in all household chores. Fathers want to be involved in the parenting process from the get go. They want to be able to anticipate their partner’s needs, encourage their partner to do their best, especially while breastfeeding. While the decision to breastfeed lies solely with the mum, the duty of the people around her is to create a suitable environment in which she feels comfortable. Even though breastfeeding is a biological process, the role of family is extremely relevant. Husbands need to take the lead in being supportive pillars for their wives.
