Stumped for Christmas present ideas? Tracy Calder shares some creative ways of turning your much-loved photographs into gifts that your friends and family will enjoy all year round
Glorious gifting

Deck the walls

Based in Sweden, Photowall produces custom wallpaper, canvas prints and posters. You can select a design from the site (I particularly like the Dawn to Dusk collection by photographer Isabella Ståhl, seen here) or upload an image and print your own mural or wallpaper. Help is at hand to check image resolution before you order, and the Photowall team will even carry out basic editing on request (although there is a fee for this service). Photowall, www.photowall.co.uk, custom wallpaper from £26 per sqm

Become a minimalist

Printed on deliciously tactile Mohawk Superfine paper, your precious photographs are sure to look the business with this photo book from Papier. The aim here is to keep things uncluttered and simple, so unearth your inner calm and allow plenty of white space when coming up with your design ideas and selecting images. The Minimalist range, as it’s called, is available in square, landscape or portrait formats, and includes both hardback and softback options. Papier, www.papier.com, The Minimalist Photo Book from £35

Join the library

The Sketchbook Project is a museum and community space based in Brooklyn Art Library, where you will find more than 41,000 artists’ sketchbooks. To take part in the project, you buy a blank sketchbook from the website, choose a theme, fill it up, and submit it. To make your artistic efforts available online, you can pay to have your book digitalised. You can gift a blank sketchbook to someone as a lovely invitation to get creative. The Sketchbook Project, www.brooklynartlibrary. com, standard sketchbook £23 ($30)
