Samsung S22 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is not only one of the greatest phones for creatives, but also one of the best smartphones in general. It includes a stunning 6.8-inch screen with 2K quality, and the S Pen allows you to easily doodle or take notes. However, when it comes to mobile photography, it truly excels. Samsung seldom disappoints with its top camera phones, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is on another level entirely.
The S22 Ultra is similar to the S21 Ultra in that it includes the same camera array, enormous pixel count, and pixel binning for increased low-light performance, as well as 8K video recording. It also features a 10x optical zoom and a whopping 100x digital zoom. The S22 Ultra, on the other hand, features a number of additional settings and increased specifications that make it a better choice for photographers. Remember the S Pen stylus we talked about earlier? You can use it as a remote shutter, which we found quite useful for photographing selfies or long exposures without having to set a timer.
It's also incredibly adaptable. We could rely on it to give whether we required a wide image of a huge scene, needed to get up close for a portrait session, or wanted to travel far (and very far) into the distance for a zoom shot. Photos shot with a 30x zoom are significantly clearer, and night photography produces richer tones and more balanced contrasts.
If you enjoy producing movies on your smartphone, the S22 Ultra has a Pro Videography mode that lets you choose which lens to use and what range the microphone is recording in - as well as other modifications like white balance and focus found in the Pro Photography mode. You can record up to 8K video, but keep in mind that it can deplete the battery and cause the phone to overheat.
